So I sleep full-time in my big old brazillian hammock and love it, but I got to thinking; what about a Mayan hammock? Does anyone have experience with a Mayan? Are they better/worse than a brazillian? What do you think?

Set fire to the night, for light is only made bright by darkness.
I have no personal experience, but it is on my wish list.

Oh great. Now I'm going to have and buy that one too. If only I had money *sigh*
But yeah, that actually looks really comfy.

I have several Mayan style hammocks. I like them for lounging around the yard and I enjoy sleeping in the better quality ones. They, IMO, conform to the body better than the Brazilians. It's real easy to get that weightless feeling when fading off to sleep in a Mayan. I've had some really strange dreams while sleeping in those hammocks.
The problem with Mayans is the real need to touch before you buy. I've ordered Mayans from websites that showed beautiful hammocks, only to discover upon opening the box that they are junk. That'll really mess-up your day. They run the range in price; from $20 to $300+. They really shine on a hot summer day. Barely anything to block any breeze and if you do start sweating on that hot day, it's all good because it will just drip down through the weave and harmlessly to the ground. No waking in a puddle of sweat or atop damp fabric. I really learned to appreciate my Mayan hammocks this summer as we set half a dozen heat records.
Every hanger should have one!
Trust nobody!
