I'm about 6' and 200 lbs. I would imagine that the UL might work for someone a few inches shorter.

I've got the UL and have never been anything but comfortable. I've stuck to the 30 degree hang with a ~87 inch structural ridgeline. I'm 6'1" and about 160lbs...
I did re-do the suspension, and added rings, and use webbing to hang it. I may migrate to whoopie slings soon, but for now it is working.
I also used a gathered end method and folded the ends in a more HH style before tying (lay flat, fold sides into the center, and repeat, moving outside corners into the middle until the proper gathering width is achieved).
Most times I prefer it to my HH Explorer...to each their own I guess!
Yeah I'm 6'-3" over 230 these days and I sleep like a baby in my GT UL. It's similar in size to my DD Traveler hammock (although the GT is more stretchy), must kinda be what you're used to
When I switched to whoopie slings I tried different whipping methods, but found that those few lost inches affected the hang, so I switched back to using the channels. I think that works great.

My UL (one of the original "Skeeter Beeter" hammocks) works fine. I't about 5 years old now & semi retired (I use it at work only now), but I agree with Mister Dark, tight is right on this particular hammock. My other 3 have considerable sag, but the UL is only comfortable to me with about 1.5' of sag. My others have about 2' to 2.5' of sag, being: a Hybrid from GT & a Skeeter Beeter Pro from GT & a WBBB. If I do the other 2 GT's as tight as the UL, I can not sleep very well.
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.
per dejoha- i ran the whoopie eye through the stock sewn channel.
my gt ul feels like a new hammock.

Hey rip, I'm glad it worked for you! Those extra inches help.

That has been my experience too. I hang my it tight and then just move to the side off the center. Laying on my side with one leg drawn up, I find it very comfortable to use the center of the hammock as a body pillow. This is the cheapest hammock I own but as far as sleeping on the side goes, it's the most comfortable.
Relax, we are all terminal...
