    Greetings from GA

I'm a long time camper, but I'm new to hammock camping. I bought my ENO single nest last year, and I've only used it twice so far. I'm completely sold on hammocks over tents, but I'm definitely in the market for some upgrades so I don't freeze my @$$ off again like during my last trip when it dipped down into the high 20's and I only had the hammock and a mediocre sleeping bag. I actually found this site while researching underquilts and pads etc.

Welcome to the forum. Since it would be rude for us to allow anyone to freeze their * off. You'll get plenty of good advice here. If no one has done it yet, be sure to check out Shug's videos. They will really tell you alot.

Good luck finding what you need and happy hanging.

    Greetings, Wackozacho.

Another local here. You'll find more information here about underquilts than you can possibly absorb at one time. Kick back in your hammock, grab a glass of sweet tea and take your time reading through the forums.

I'll be breaking in my new Stealth IXUQ (Mac's IXUQ with a digital cammo shell) next weekend, and am looking forward to the lower temps to test it out. Hopefully I won't need to supplement the UQ with a pad, but we'll see.

    Welcome the the group!

Welcome to HF from Bama...........any of the insulation gear manufacturers on the site are worth a look. Read some of the posts concerning the Underquilt (UQ) or Top Quilt (TQ) types, brands an pay special attention to the type of sleeper the poster claims to be, whether they are a cold or warm sleeper. I have several of the KickAss Quilts (KAQ) that are manufactured by Arrowhead Equipment and have been Comfortable to the upper 20's when I used them. Good luck in your search........

Welcome to the madness. My next big hammock expense will be an underquilt. The only problem as you will find out is that there are just so many great UQ's to choose from and I have not made up my mind yet. Hoping Santa will be real good to me this year.
