The biggest problem is that after they have gone backpacking with me just once, they realize how uncomfortable camping is with a tent (or how comfortable I look in a hammock) and then don't really want to come again. Mostly just my relatives are like that, but if I provide more comfort for a friend that would definitely help my odds of getting them to join me in the mountains. I don't know if I would bother to buy them a nice lightweight tarp since even 9x9's aren't cheap.

I have that exact hammock; more to the point it was my very first one ever! It is what got me hooked, err hung. I destroyed my first one in the name of education, but ordered another one. It is what I use for people that want to try one. Great hammock for the price, but the material is not as comfortable as the ENO, Trek Light, Bliss, etc. Still a good hammock.
