    chees:The adjustable grip hitch should work just fine if is precisely set before you get into your hammock. I would use Blake's hitch. If it is sufficient for the people that gave use whoopie slings to climb trees with it should work to hang a hammock.

    Thanks for pointing me to Blake's hitch, Xauto. Looks like it should be good for creating a loop just like the adjustable grip hitch. If they use it for climbing trees, i agree - it should be enough for the hammock, including me getting in and out, hopefully. I'll give it a try and let you guys know how it goes.
