Seriously, the law reads in such a way, that you can only take your firearm to and from the range, and it must be in a case designed for transporting weapons, and of course unloaded. It has been suggested that one could be arrested for stopping for milk with a cased weapon in the car, because you aren't *only* transporting it to and from the range.

There is no open carry here, that's for sure. Hell, I'd get in trouble with a knife blade that's 3.5"

Unfortunetly i have. I used to live in Wisconsin and used to deal with the illinois cops all the time back in the day, and you're correct about them being a little over zealous in their jobs. One of the reasons i moved away from the midwest. Along with the cold winters, rusty cars and mosquitos the size of small birds. I go back every now and again, but just long enough to remind me of why i left.
