    Tonights Project - Ridgeline Organizer

There was another thread where someone was asking for an organizer. It was serendipitous as I had just trimmed up some spare material from the dog bed I made, and was staring intently at the material trying to imagine how I'd want to layout an organizer for myself. I figured I'd get off my butt and cobble something up.

Originally I had a grand design in mind..but as I sat down to the sewing machine, assessing my skills and the tools I had on hand, I figured I'd make an organizer and not a space shuttle.

Roughly laid out and pinned in place. I test fit everything with pins in place to make sure it would fit and function.

Um, Fast Forward to after the hemming, backstitching, and cursing, and it's a completed organizer. I guess I was so focussed on making, I forgot to photograph. Here I've got it strung up in the garage, it's loaded heavy. Full water bottle, two cell phones, wallet, radio, lighter, flashlight, and pocket knife. Seems to hold well.

I've got more ideas for a future version. But I need some more tools (snap tool, grommet tool), and I need to pick up more draw cord and cord locks and stuff.

I sketched out something similar once but yours looks a lot better than mine did.

    Great job!

What kind of material is that?

Love the horizontal pockets! Great idea for fast access.

Thanks! I just mapped it out how I figured I'd use it. I'm sure I'll adjust and modify as I go along. I love the shelf on the WBBB, but there have been so many times where I'm fishing around for my flashlight when I hear someone approaching the hammock.

The material is something I picked up at Walmart. It's a PU coated waterproof cloth. Totally overkill for this, but it's what I had on hand.

    Looks great!

What are you using as attachment loops to the ridgeline?

Just some velcro sewed right into the seams.

Nice! I too like the horizontal pockets. I had something similar in mind for conceal carry while in the hammock.

That thought has crossed my mind as well. I was thinking about a modification to the WBBB shelf that would basically be a holster/pocket. But CCW isn't allowed in Illinois, so it was just wishful thinking.
