    HF n00b from PA

I've spent a lot of time reading up on here, especially about hammock suspension, and decided to become a member. I use a Hennessy UL BP Asym-Zip with the stock ASYM fly and I'm in the process of upgrading the suspension to a whoopie sling (just ordered it from whoopieslings.com). Before the HH, I used an ENO, and for backpacking with my ladyfriend, I still use an ENO DoubleNest. I'm looking forward to sharing my little knowledge and learning as much as I can from the diehards!

Welcome! I am also in PA, use the HH Zip and Eno's, and just bought my first pair of whoopie slings to test out. At some point I would like to get out to the Allegheny National Forest area where you are. Do you use that area at all?

Welcome, welcome, welcome! PA really needs to do a hang on the AT near Pottsville or somewhere near State College. So many new PA hangers.

Smitty - I was just out your way this past week, doing the south loop of the OLP. Had planned to do the whole OLP, but the terrible weather and a delayed start and a closed road set us back almost a full day. Pleasant Stream was astounding, however.

Barefoot - The ANF is great, but domesticated. It is also heavily drilled and logged. I would highly recommend the Hickory Creek trail, but it isn't much more than an overnighter. I've also hiked the Tracy Ridge system, which coincides with the NCT, and it is pretty awesome. You can spend three nights in Tracy Ridge if you plan it right. I haven't hiked the Minister Creek trail, primarily because EVERYONE has hiked the Minister Creek Trail, and it is only a dayhike or short overnight, probably better suited for fall/early spring if you want to avoid crowds.

Everyone else - Thanks for the warm welcome!
