I had a 20% coupon also, for members only use, but it had to be a full price item so it would not work....but I tried it...no luck

The nearest REI to my house is a 6 hour drive. I have never even been to an REI store.
On the other hand, I am off to visit my sister in the mountains outside of Vegas in 2 weeks and will be hitting both the Vegas stores!
My goal is to try on boots and a new pack. I can't afford either right now, but if I am sized for boots, I should be able to order. As far as packs, I have 2 Ospreys. This one is too big (and heavy) and the other one is a large daypacker, but really too small for even an overnighter with gear, so I am looking for that Goldilocks pack: just right size and low weight. Hopefully I can find what I want.

Lonely et al.-- I use altrec.com for almost everything I buy, and they recently had a 25% off everything sales! Very few items (e.g NOrth Face) excluded. I bought a boatload of stuff.
Anyhow, all the time (even right now) if you review an item on their website (I think even one you did not order from them, just sign up for free on their website and review an item), they send you an email for 20% off one order. The entire order! So, buy as much as you wish, 20% off (unless it's already on sale). I bought my Kelty 9 and 12s there at 20% off, and free shipping, and no sales tax.
www.altrec.com Great company, great folks.
It was a good deal to go with my new bb 1.7
Just wanted to remind you guys about REI's Scratch -n- Dent sales, you can get some really good deals.
2 weeks ago I grabbed a Therm-a-Rest Dreamtime XL $209.99 reg for $41.00 and an REI Camp Bed Xl reg $109.99 for $13.99 one of the valves was broken so I just removed it and it's mounting block and sealed the fabric with repair glue and works like new short one valve.
Thanks for pointing this out. I went and picked on a Noah's 12 last weekend and I'm quite happy with it. They wouldn't take the 20% off coupon, though - but I did manage to get the last one in the store.
The included figure 9's and guylines were a pleasant surprise.
