Talkin about a South Alabama hang

I mentioned it earlier and there even seemed to be a slight interest, so I thought I would suggest a hang somewhere in south Alabama. Not that you northern guys and gals are not welcome, but for my own convenience I thought I would start south of Montgomery.

My first vote is for Conecuh National Forest. Not the best choice, and one I have not been to in several years, but I can see the posibilities. Where else could we consider?

Got a question for you concerning this Hang you are talking about. In your minds eye, is this a drive up camp/hang event or a hike and hang event?

I'm from central Alabama and I'm interested. I talked to Cuffs today and she mentioned the possibility of a hang @ Oak Mountain State Park. I would try to make both 'cause I have so much to learn from all of you. Maybe someone will show me their Whoopies. (That doesn't sound legal).

I am up for the Oak Mountain thang as well.

I could do oak mountain...looks pretty. Only 5 hrs away from meh.
What time would you be planning this? might have to get my crows nest sooner than expected

And reiterating what someone else said...would we be car camping or hiking? Personally I would like to hike some but I dont know the trails there.

I gotta do a test run in my new hammock before we do this, or bring a tent as backup just in case. Hope to get a test in this weekend. I have ridden mountain bikes at Oak Mountain and I here the hiking trails are nice.
