would this be a good replacement for the stock rope on my Clark

I like it because it might allow me to use carabiners at the attachment points and looping the end of the webbing around the tree like a hugger.

I think the loops add weight you don't need. I bought slap straps but have since gone to a ring buckle system. I tie a bowline loop in the clark rope about a foot from the hammock and then atttach the loop in the rope to the rings with a larkshead. I then bought 20 feet of webbing from EMS, cut it into 2 two-foot sections, heat sealed the ends, tied a bowline loop in one end of each for atttraching to a tree, and thread the other end through the rings. This gives me the an almost infinet adjustment range.
Do you have to completely untie and remove the rope from the hammock to do the larkshead knot?
Noogods, where did you get the rings from?
Did you do the ring buckle thing to both ends of the hammock?
Do you have any pics?
thanks

I don't have pics of the clark set up but there are pics of the claytor using the same thing except i tied bowline loop in the claytor webbing to attach to the rings with larks head.
You do not need to remove the rope to the hammock. Just thred the loop through both rings, then pull the sides of the loop down the outsides of the rings back toward the hammock. That creates the larks head. At first it wants to undo itself but once you have pressure on it it will stay put.
I bought the rings ("decending rings") from a mountaineering in the adirondacks when i was there in October. You can also buy them online:

I use the ring buckles on both ends.
