    First DIY Tarp

Well everyone here is my first attempt at my Large DIY Tarp. I wanted a bigger tarp then most that I see, but making it in your living room it is hard to judge size until you have it hanging up in the woods. Turned out to be a little bigger then I think I needed at 12 X 16, but I do like the extra room. I have no intentions of using it for anything except car camping so weight is not an issue. If I could ever talk my Wife into going with me we could easily use it for both of us. It really wasn't to hard to thread inject it, but surprised me just how time consuming it is. We haven't gotten rain in a few months so I can only assume that it will hold out the water. It was made out of the nylon coated ACU material from Wal-Mart's $1.50 bin.

    Way to go

    That monster looks awesome!

My wife has very cautious about this 'camping thing.'
Our hammocks were a giant leap forward in comfort for her and I think if I had a packable tarp like that and a comfy (and light) potty, I could get her out to the woods.

    Thanks for sharing.

Holy cow that baby is big! If it starts to hail while you are camping just park your car under there too!

    Love it!

If I could find some of this fabric, it would definitely be my go-to tarp when car-camping with the boy...
