    Is this safe?

I need to know if this is a safe arrangement.

I just made a 8" (16") continuous loop with 6" buries. It came out great. I attached this to the hammock with a larks head throught the channel. I then laid out my adjustable SRL, and lined up the loops. Then I took the fixed loop from whoopie sling and tied a larks head (through both the SRL and continuous loop. I labeled the picture, but the knot is not clear.

I intend to do this to the other side as well and hang in it this weekend.

My intention is to more efficiently attach the SRL (and raise it up slightly) as well as giving a better connecting point for the hooks on my UQ.

Looks like it'll work fine to me.

    Do you use a bugnet?
Lifting the srl may hamper the fit of the bugnet.

I agree, but remember, knots derate cordage, usually by a known percentage, and what you're doing is outside the norm. I wouldn't hesitate to use this, though.

I checked the continuous loop pictoral, and Opie said a 10" CL with 6" buries with amsteel (1/8"?) was tested to 1800 lbs. All I have here is a shorter loop, but with the same bury. I guess the real question I have here is the larks head around the CL and the SRL.

The Skeeter Beeter Pro is designed with a bug net, but it is intended to be hung from a ridgeline. The BN has 4 external suspension points, for which I am considering about 3 different options to arrange how to hang it.

From a balance of forces perspective, it seems like you have the same force on the whoopie sling that you would have on a WBBB with the whoopie lark's headed to the hammock directly and fed through the ridgeline. The continous loop just transfers the exact same force the whoopie would have been carrying directly tied to the hammock. So, seems like you're just fine with that setup.

It should be fine. When I make rings (endless loops) I don't really measure anything. I form the size ring I want, which is about 8-10" long when pulled between my fingers. I typically bury almost 100% on smaller rings. For example for an 8" long ring, I bury 8" on each side. I end up with a little XTRA and taper it back to end up with a double thickness of line for the entire ring.

In other words, there is a bury throughout the entire ring.

It is important to stitch the cross over and the beginning of each bury to prevent it from working loose in light loading.

I use vectran rings to attach the decending rings to my hammock. You could add a descending ring there if you are worried about long term chafe.
