1st DIY project: UQ from 20* bag 4 CLARK

I have a NX-250 and wanted a UQ but need to get some cash first soooo I made one. First off I put my son to work as a hammock hangee so I could get some measurements. I then transposed the measurements to a 20* bag and cut it to a ruff shape. Then I sewed this shape up tight I got some double faced tape at Joanns. After this I trimmed the edges clean. Next I then added two darts one on each side. I drew them out and cut first, taped and then sewed them. The darts along with the taper hold the shape I wanted well. With this done I placed a channel along both sides using 2" poly webbing and added some elastic to the top and bottom hems. Just have to add some shock cord and I am done, I hope.

Measurements for Clark NX-250 may work with other gathered end hammocks. From the head to foot every six inches from I market off from a center line towards each edge. The width I used is as follows. Divide by 2 if marking from a center line. The darts were cut at 36 inches from top they are cut 11 inches from the edge inward and six inches on the edge, cut at 33" and 39" cut to a center point at 36 inches and 11 inches from edge. Hope this helps makes it clear. From start to finish took just under 4 hours,

Whether trail or paddle don't you know
My hammock is the way to go
There peace and solitude I find
To ease all troubles from my mind
Both body and soul revel in delight
As day surrenders to inky night

Hey that looks great, are you willing to share the measurements and supplies needed. Also let us know how it hangs and if it keeps you warm. I certainly would like to put my wife to work! or um I mean I can't wait to sew!

Really, thanks and let us know.

No, not a problem! I am just much better with at hammer and drill than a needle and thread. So any help I can get I will take. Thanks again
