The tarps from Sportsman's Guide are camo, they are NOT Sil Nylon.

Great tarps, but decidedly NOT Sil Nylon.

    You are correct Doctari.

The Sportman's Guide tarp is Polyurethane coated nylon (not ripstop).

    How is it?

Hey, Gumby, I'm thinking about getting that same tarp as a rainfly for my military jungle hammock. How does it perform? What is the material like as compared to silnylon or ripstop? Is the waterproofing good?

Incidentally, I notice this board has forums for all the commercial brands, but nothing for the military issue hammocks which are - let's face it - the grandfather of them all.

I know it's heavier, but I LOVE mine, and it was certainly cheap. That's always a big plus in my book!

I have the SG 9x9 and it performs very well. The polyester tafetta material is obviously a little heavier than silnylon tarps. Waterproofing is excellent. Very long ridgeline. Something like 12' 9"

We can only hope it won't. There is already too much camo in the world.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?
