I generally buy firewood from a place here in Waterloo (I'm only 25 mins away) so I'm not sure about vendors close to Valens but 10 minutes down RR#97 (Old Beverley) heading toward Cambridge there's a massive retail center with a TSC (good bet), Canadian Tire and I think a Rona, one of them should have Firewood. We have purchased wood from Valens (Front gate) at around $8 (last I remember) dry and good for starting a fire but you'll go through a lot of it (small pieces, mill off cuts).

I was only planning on staying the Saturday night. Despite it being Family Day, not everyone has the luxury of having that day off.

[o]TTeR, is there somewhere there to buy firewood? What is nearby outside the Conservation area?
I've got the kindling part of the firewood taken care of. I cut up half a skid that I salvaged from behind a warehouse last weekend. It's been drying in my house all week. There is also a small town called Freelton that we pass through on Hwy 6 before turning on the road to Valens, there may be a chance to get a bag of firewood from there.

    Cheers

Oh I've been battling with that decision all week! We got out last weekend because this one was going to be problematic (Pretty sure Mick won't be able to make this one) but the thought of missing a hang opportunity could have long-term psychological ramifications resulting in daily medicated sessions with “Nurse Diesel”, since we’re on the subject of being “commited”, ya I will drop by on Saturday with a 50/50 chance on the overnight. I should have a trunk full of wood unless its really wet and one recently tarnished kettle. Can someone PM me with a contact number and I'll keep you posted on the wood and my ETA?
