    Zip tie Whipping??

Hey, so i was thinking about which method of whipping or making an overhand knot or a double sheet bend. because a ziptie would be like way easier to use than any other method, and it wont come out, could i use it in place of a whipping knot? would it fail?? has anyone used it before and had good experience with it???
    Thanks, Dan

I use a zip tie in my channel ends. Then I larkshead the ring buckles onto the hammock so the channels keep them from slipping off. Works great.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

I don't use any whipping or zip ties.
If you hem the short ends there is enough material mass to hold your suspension in place. I use amsteel or dynaglide or muletape as my suspension and I've yet to have one slip off.

Recently, the last four hammocks I made were done with the warbonnet method, where you sew a small channel on the shortends, feed a cord thru the channel, and pull tight creating the gathered ends. Knot this cord securely and attach suspension below the newly formed gather. Again, these have performed well for me and no need for a whipping cord or ziptie.
