Hennessy Mod 2 or Mod 3...which one

I'm on the pot, 2 looks really nice but I just left a group of hangers this weekend and one was a gram weenie so I'm leaning towards 3. For those that have 2 how often do you actually roll it up? I asked 2QZQ if I could get the double zipper on the right and the single zipper on the left if I was going with the mod 2 - the gram weenie would not be happy on that one.

I have the Mod 2 and love it. It can be unzipped partially like the 3 or open completely and tied back. I am not a gram weenie, if I were I would most likely not be using the HH but heading to a GT Nano 7.

Whichever way you go you can expect prompt courteous service and quality workmanship.

Number 2 all the way. Being able to go topless is great. Plus you can reach outside both sides of the hammock to check or adjust an under quilt.

What does the extra zipper pull weigh? Aren't there better places you could shave more weight than that? You know taking the tabs off the zipper pulls or cutting your shoe laces shorter.

Go with the extra pull, I would.

Unrelated thought that I just had, has anyone made a solid fly to replace the bug net in cold weather. Would that cause condensation issues? Would it add enough warmth to be worth the weight?

Honestly dude I would go with the MOD 4 more flexability. Thats what I'm gong to have done to my HH that Jeremy was using.

I don't have a HH and have never looked at the mods this close before. Why don't they offer one that lets you leave the bug net at home?

What is the weight dif between the options? How many additional oz will it cost you to be able to sleep topless if desired? And more importantly, as knotty said, to be able to reach out both sides? I find that hugely helpful with a hhss or UQs. But nearly every convenience cost both grams and $.

    Added weights for HH mods.

    MOD's 1 & 3 ~ 3.5 oz.
    MOD 2 ~ 5.0 oz.
    MOD 4 ~ 5.0 oz.

Get the best of ALL mods and go with mod #4!
You won't regret it. I absolutely LOVE my HH Desert Rat with #4 mod.

I just blew water out every hole in my face. Srry, but being about as far from a gram weenie as you can get that just was too funny to me.

Mod #2 here and it is top down, rolled up 90% of the time. Depends on where/when you're hanging; no bugs top down, bugs and everything gets zipped up. No regrets on the 2Q&ZQ mod #2, money well spent.
The older I get the better I used to be. Superhero status is near.
