Lars, my best friend has been my trail buddy for (holy crap...)18 years. (How time flies!) And we ate like kings! We brought enough food for 8 days, planned on being out for 7 days, but the trail would only have us for days. I admit our meal portions were a bit large. We repackaged freeze dried meals, and ate 3 a day. Bulky but lighter and more filling that cold meal replacement bars, and boiling the water forced us to have a mid day stop and rest every day.

If I had it to do over again the meal sizes would have been slightly smaller.

Thanks to you, Shug, and everyone else here for helping me to sleep way better, and off the ground!

    respectfully,
    Jose Diaz

OMG! That is an incredible view. I'm in & from South Florida, swampy tropical landscapes.
I was never really "into" mountain views. But after seeing YOUR video footage, I think I may eat-my-words. Wow!

Thanks for sharing this really cool trip report.

I grew up in south Florida, and certainly understand your love for that scenery too. I especially love the mangrove swamps, and warm beaches of the west coast. I also love the mountains and ridges of my back yard. I believe it's all good, just different.

I'm glad you enjoyed the views. I hope to get more of them out there for you all to see, and if you're in my neck of the woods, drop me a line and I'll show you all my favorite "hangs."

    respectfully,

Thank you sir, for your efforts in making the camping hammock an approachable endeavor. I too enjoy your videos. My hat's off to you and all the other forum members that have helped me to sleep more soundly in the wilderness.
