Very well done. I've spent time with flat Stanly myself, but this is a much better story.

    AWESOME trip report!

I think that many of us solo hikers will be giving birth to new traveling companions now ,,,,, I'm think that Hot Hiking Henrietta, or maybe Dan The Dude should experience the Bay Circuit Trail with me next time out! LOL!

That was just REALLY clever - GREAT report!

(Oh-oh! Now all the HF hikers will be playing with (paper?) dolls in the woods! LOLOL!)

Reminds me of a Red Green episode.

He complained about traveling and not being able to find anyone to take his picture. So he took one of himself, printed it, mounted it on a stick and just held it up as you did with Flat Henry.

    Cool post BTW.

Thanks for all the nice comments, folks. It really was a fun trip, and the real Henry was really excited about all the places that Flat Henry saw. He told me that Flat Henry "went the most places."

NCPatrick, I've spent some time with some Flat Stanleys in the past, but Flat Henry was the most fun. All that the Flat Stanleys ever want to do is get back in the mailbox and ride in a mail truck to their next destination. Flat Henry wanted to ride and hammock camp.

JayS, Henry did share Flat Henry's story with his class, and all of the "Flats" were put on display in the school. I sent Flat Henry's helmet and jacket back with him. I'm not sure if he was displayed wearing them or not.

Umm, SkyPainter, Flat Henry isn't a doll! Girls play with dolls. Flat Henry is an action figure.

While we were stationed over in Spain, we hosted a few Flat Stanleys. Took him to the local bull ring, some Roman Ruins, and a couple of places like that for some good photo ops.
