    The wheels in my head are turning...
    What if.... I found an old electric blanket, removed all the heating coils from the plush fabric and then converted the AC to DC (somehow???)

    Ahhhh All warm at strategic locations on the bottom of my hammock.

    Possible?

    Or you could just get a heated suit from a motorcycle supply place....

    They sell heated vests, coats, pants, gloves, socks....

    ed speer & some others were talking about the heated clothing concept used on an underquilt some time this past year on the yahoo group.
    i don't know if ever got around to trying any thing or not.
    he said it may not be for backpacking but for car camping in cold weather, it would be great.

    If you're going to carry it, might as well be multi-use - just get a heated jacket and sleep in it rather than using it for underquilt-only. MHO.
