How do you set up a non-structural ridgeline?

When you're using whoopie slings and tree huggers?
How do you keep it taught with little if any sag in the line?

Non-structural ridgeline as in the line to hang a bag, headlamp, or carabiner items onto it.
Something that I can permanently keep attached to my hammock.

It all depends on how you hang your hammock. In order to keep a non-structural ridgeline taut, you'll have to hang the hammock exactly the same each time.

Having a structural ridgeline is SOOO much easier, and makes for a consistent hang.

I have attached ridgelines 2 ways: When using the WBBB method of whipping, I've put a loop through the bundle with a triple-overhand-knot at the end.

I've also just tied a bowline to the larksehead on the suspension, and used an adjustable taut-line-hitch on the other end...

I really don't want to have to set it up each time.
    Thats just a PITA.

Non Structural, just hang your hammock up, and find somewhere to tie it to, in my case it's the same with a structural, which I use and wouldn't be caught without.

Are you adding a non structural, in addition to a structural?

How are you set up now?

Right now, suspension-wise, i'm using tree huggers and one end of my whoopie sling larksheaded around my hammock (balled up hammock ends) and the other end hanging off of a marlin hitch spike.

So no ridgeline at now. I'd just tie to the whoopie at some point above the larkshead, raise or lower to suit.
