Wow, footbox looks big compared to what I tried. (I guess mine was too small.) Do you find your feet are right at the bottom of the triangle?

Worst case: If you're not sleepy, I guess you could fly your hammock like a kite!

    Looks great!

Thanks JS, I may have gotten the foot-box a little big, I did find my feet laying pretty close to the middle of it... I might just be a weird size/shape

Thanks for taking the time to describe the job very well. I may have to try one of these next

I just got my DIY BB made. After seeing all the work that goes into one of these, I think I may buy my next one. Of course, now that I have all the shapes and sized of the parts, especially the bug net, it would be much faster. I'll post a picture soon.

This looks like a good use for the 10 yards of WalMart 1.9 ripstop I scored the other day. Sasquatch Bird!

Ugh, You guys and your Walmart ripstop. I've hit every Walmart in a 15 mile radius (And some farther!) and I've never seen the ripstop (and the women that work there apparently don't know what ripstop is). I did however pick up some of the digi-camo PU coated stuff...I guess it's a type of ripstop, but not like we'd use for a hammock.

I scored some ripstop over a year ago, now only 2 WM's in San Diego (of 6) have fabrics, and I've never found ripstop again.

I just need to get off my butt and order some more of Sclittlefield's $3 1.1 ripstop...

Any idea if it would have any adverse effects to make the side panel only 1-2" to give a better view? Would it cause problems as far as stresses and such or is it a doable thing, anybody know?
