What is the correct hangfing height? Or does that vary from location to location, based on how you want to hangg?

Varies .... I like to be so that I can sit in my hammock as a chair with my legs comfortably on the ground. sometimes I hang real low to be ready for "Breakfast From The Hammock".

That's a common misconception about coffee. Usually it's the other stuff you ingest that activates the acids in the coffee that are normally non-agitating to the digestive tract.

It varies for me too. I'll normally have mine low enough that when I'm sitting in my hammock, my feet are flat on the ground. Now I'm only 5 foot, so that puts me rather close to the ground, which is fine. Only when there's supposed to be a hard rain will I attach my ropes as high up the tree as I can get them. Hard rain around where I'm usually camping tends to cause back splash onto the bottom of my under quilt and I really don't like that.

Another thing that causes me to vary my hanging height will be which tarp I'm using. If I'm under my huge Guide Gear (12x12) I can have my hammock as low as I want and not worry about rain splashing back under me. If I'm using my hennessy with that weird shaped tarp, I have to pay attention to the weather and hang accordingly.
