    Hello from Australia

hey everyone, Just thought I'd say hello, I'm JCK from Australia.

I'm pretty new to camping, but I have done a fair bit of hiking, with only a few overnighters or multi day trips under my belt, so pretty new.

I borrowed or was lent a tent for those trips, so do not have a shelter of my own, not even a tarp, but after hearing so many good things about the warbonnet hammocks, I've decided instead of buying a tent, I'll buy a WBBB and tarp first.

    Found this forum through bladeforums.

Thanks, how many other Aussies are on here?

    I'm in Brisbane.

I knotice you have a black bird 1.7 double layer, thats what I was thinking of getting.

have you used it much? I'm not too sure of good campsite round the brisbane area, I know there are some at the back fo the gold coast, and the few times I did my overnighter was round the gympie area.

G'day JCK, another Aussie here. It is a good time to be buying from the US with the strength of the Aussie dollar. Probably worth considering an under quilt and maybe even a top quilt while you're at it - you'll save some $'s on postage if you can get them all together. Brandon (WB guy) makes good UQ (yeti) and TQ (mamba).
I've just ordered a pair of Jacks R Better, Hudson River quilts for a TQ and UQ and I'll be able to join them together as a family sized quilt to serve dual purposes. Soooo many combinations to pick from - have fun with it all and welcome

    Thanks for the welcome mylesau.

The rates are definately a plus, do they still think it will be at a competitive rate around christmas time? late november/mid december would be when I would buy one, as by then I will have enough saved up for the hammock, the tarp and something else.

I hear you on buying it all together, but I'll have to see if I have enough money for it all. But I will definately be getting the hammock and tarp by the end of the year.

I do enjoy looking through all the different possibilties of the tarps and quilts.

Yes, from what I'm hearing it may even be better by then. I read one financial guru predict as high as $1.30 mid next year, but I wouldn't bank on that one - it would bring our farmers to their knees...
