    Which side is up?

This sounds like a no brainer, but I guess sometimes I have no brain. I have the HH hex tarp, and tonight is the first night I am using it. I have it set up, and as per tenting, I set it up with the reinforcements to the underneath. The question I now have is the "shiny" side is underneath. Is this ok? Will it work ok for moisture repelling, etc.

if i'm not mistaken that would be right. having the shiny (coated) side down gives it extra protection against sun & falling acorns & small limbs, etc.
does yours have the pockets for line storage on the corners?

    Thumbs up

The tarp has small openings in the reinforcing corners that I take to be the pockets you are talking about. I used them to store the guy ropes. It works well. Thanks for the heads up.

yep, the HH hex fly that i have seen has those. their really helpful for keeping the lines from getting tangled when you take it out of it's skin or sack.
