I have had to go inside during the middle of the night because of dogs too. I hang under my kids playhouse, and my dog like to run under me grazing my butt everytime, plus anything that moves gets barked at while I'm out there including leaves. I know its not always fun

yep, the trail tends to be much more peaceful than the back yard
I too will something make and joy in it's making
My dog just curls up and sleeps next to the hammock when I sleep in the back yard. (He's tall enough that it'd be hard to hang out of reach.)
But yes sometimes it takes a couple passes to get everything to work.
