Hammocks - what do you have from outside the US?

I posted these in another thread but thought the general population might like to see them. If you have pictures from hammocks you've seen in your travels, post them here.

In the Amazon, hammocks are quite common. When we did our trip on the Amazon from Belem to Manaus, the boat we were on had three classes of service:
    1. Hammock class w/ no air conditioning
    2. Hammock class w/ air conditioning
    3. Cabins - extremely small but private.

The Veropeso in Belem is one of the largest markets in South America - picking up a hammock there is simple and inexpensive - around $6. I have no idea where mine is but next time I run across it, I'll see if I can't take pictures.

What have you seen in your travels?

    Cheers,
    Gerry

i went on a short term mission trip to Honduras a while back to help build a house & got one of the many colorful hammocks we saw for sale there.
it was some thing like a nylon rope... not really comfortable on the skin.
i need to try it again w/ a cover or mat.

one of the things that the founders of this web site have asked us to do is keep our focus on hammocks, other wise this site will become like so many others where a person has to wade through so much other stuff to find what they came here for.
it's certainly understandable that people who visit here often begin to feel a little like family & want to get other's opinions on other stuff, so attrol & jeff set up a thread for non-hammock discussion.
    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/f...splay.php?f=42

maybe we can keep this thread focused on hammocks made in another country from were you live

but note the guide lines jeff gave there in the 1st thread.
not wanting to be a stickler... just trying to keep us on track.
if i don't, they may cut my pay
I too will something make and joy in it's making

Just trying to find common ground and open a dialog with others who do something besides backpacking and camping! I've had at least one good comment already.

If I offended any horses, Texans, cowboys or hammock owners, I apologize.

    Back to the hammock talk.

    Cheers,
    Gerry
