Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

Stopped for dinner, and guess what?? NO FOOD!! I left my little stuff sack grub bag hanging in a tree at the MAHA base camp!! Went back up to our camp after I came off the trail, looks like the squirels found it, no where in site. But I thought I saw it about 60 feet up in top of a giant oak tree!!
    But not real sure.
Looks like I just made an offering to the Appalachian Trail Squirrel Gods!!
A little bit of oatmeal, 4 bags of Maxwell house single use coffee bags , some trail mix, a little bottle of cooking oil, and a fruit bar.

What an awesome time. I am so greatful for the experience of meeting all the veteran hangers and my fellow noobs. I have to say that I couldn't have wished for a better time. Thank you to EVERYONE who participated in whatever way they did...from organizing the event, to just bringing positive vibes and companionship. I really enjoyed meeting all of you and making some new friends.

I also found it incredible to be able to meet with, talk to, and shake hands with some of the creators/vendors of whose gear I own and use. Of all my hobbies and interests, this is THE only one where I can say this is at all possible...and everyone was so down to earth and more than willing to sit and talk with you about products, or just any old topic.

I was VERY LUCKY to have won a JRB donated Travel Pillow, and one of the grand prizes, a MacEntire/Tree to Tree dontated Full-Lenght IX UQ! I almost never win anything, so this was an exciting way to cap off the trip. I can't wait for the next group hang!

    Cheers,
    Kyle

So good catching up with old friends and making new ones. Also catching some extra sleep...missed the Saturday nite festivities because I was napping.

Thanks to all the organizers and people who helped out.

    Here are a few pics.
Question: How many hammock hangers does it take to rig a tensegrity stand?
I've heard of "beer goggles but just what is Dutch wearing in the last pic?

    Maybe they're "Riesling" goggles?

It's good you got a pic of MacEntyre's tensegrity stove stand BEFORE it went up (or should that be down) in flames.

Since they've got a red tint I'd have to go with merlot goggles.
