I just got back and I had a great time! I hope that everyone else did too. There are a lot of people to thank for contributing time, energy, knowledge, and gear for the raffle! The community spirit in this group is second to none. Thanks to Dutch for an awesome breakfast. Thanks to Iafte and Oh-No for grilling duties at the dinner. Thanks to Loser for the great concert. Thanks to the Jacks, MacEntyre, Darby from Tree to tree, Pappasmurf, Adia, and everyone else who contributed to the raffle. A special thanks to HappyCamper for making it all happen, it must be like herding cats!
The weather was beautiful. There were a TON of people there. I'll stop now. Gotta unpack.
Poppabear: I hope that all goes well for you and your brother!

Just got home. Great time as usual. Thanks to everyone who makes this happen!
Haven't been home long ourselves, but I for one sure had a nice time. The weather was perfect, the turnout great, the campfires fun, and the food superb. Thanks to everyone that made this weekend special.
Just got in the door! Fantastic hang, people, and weather. And thanks to Pedro for my new huaraches! Love 'em. And Maple and Kayak Karl for the gifts of wine and food you gave me. Big group makes for big fun! The potluck and raffle were OUTSTANDING. Much appreciation to everyone who contributed! We think at least 50 people showed and that's a conservative count. Gotta start unpacking the truck now. I really should just leave it all in there for the Gorge trip, but the smells wouldn't make a good impression.
OK people, start telling everyone what you won at the raffle. I got a set of Dutch Biners! Wooooooooooooo-who!

Really fun! Learned a lot about my BMBH from Pan and loved the Swedish Candle from Pedro, Mac and others Knotty, thanks for the stove tips and tricks . . Added the fire steel to the kit and it works great. Fun to make new friends that feel like old pals.

Just woke up from a nap after driving home. Had a great time!! will post pictures and details tomorrow!
My wife and I had a great time, and we will definitely be putting the Spring MAHHA on our calendar!
I enjoyed the house tours, checking out each everyone's gear and especially meeting in person so many of the (incredibly friendly and generous) forum folks. Thanks JayS and Vagabond for loaning gear for my wife to use - she even tried sleeping in a hammock for the first time. She's not sold yet - so we have to come back next time - but a good time was had by all.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed to make MAHHA happen, whether it was cooking for 50 people, organizing, donating raffle prizes, loaning gear or just sharing your time and knowledge. I have been telling my wife for months that the HammockForums crew is the nicest, most generous and fun bunch I've ever run across and the MAHHA hang was proof positive

Had a great time this weekend, met a lot of great folks. I just now got back to Central Pa.
After I left the campsite today around late morning,I stayed in the park, I kept my pack on and did about 14 miles on the A.T. ( 7 miles south, then turned around and came back).
Stopped for dinner, and guess what?? NO FOOD!! I left my little stuff sack grub bag hanging in a tree at the MAHA base camp!! Went back up to our camp after I came off the trail, looks like the squirels found it, no where in site. But I thought I saw it about 60 feet up in top of a giant oak tree!!
But not real sure.
Looks like I just made an offering to the Appalachian Trail Squirrel Gods!!
A little bit of oatmeal, 4 bags of Maxwell house single use coffee bags , some trail mix, a little bottle of cooking oil, and a fruit bar.
If you see any squirrels on a caffine kick--I did it!!
