AAHH man I'm really sorry to hear this. It's always sad loosing a pet and reading your post kinda choked me up a bit not gonna lie. Best wishes to you and your friend on the loss of a faithful companion and best friend.

Tragic. A pet like that is part of the family as well as one cog in your camping trio. I'm sure the next hike won't be the same for either of you.

Wow. I'm so sorry. It's hard--really hard--to get over this sort of thing. I had a dog who was run over when I was 10. I still miss her sometimes, even though we have a new dog now. She was loving, protective and playful, and a beautiful golden retriever.
I hope your friend finds a new dog--a good dog--, but it won't ever replace this one. You are both in my thoughts.

That is a heart breaker for sure, Eflat7! I hate to hear it. It is amazing how strong a bond can be developed between us and our animal friends. Sorry for y'all's loss!

Whoa! That really sucks.
Nobody wants to think of the day without their dog. Brings a hush over anyone even thinking it. I know it does here too.
