    Nalgene discount

On 10-21-10 Nalgene is offering its products at half price on their website. You have to use the code "october" to get it. There is also free shipping on orders over ten bucks. I personally cannot wait for Thursday as I have a slight water bottle addiction...

    Thanks for the info!

YOu might be unaware, but apparently those bottles aren't the best for your health if you use them a lot, apparently some hormone leeches outta the plastic! Not sure if it's true, but that's what I've heard from many different places, I use a stainless steel one now. Do Nalgene make a stainless variety of their normal plastics ones?

Thanks for the info but I am lucky enough to have a fellow scout leader that works for Nalgene so thr troop gets seconds from the company that they cannot sell for one reason or another.

Yes Nalgene makes stainless. Not all stainless is made the same. Some stainless bottles have a thin coating lining the bottle which can contain BPA.

BPA is what you are referring to. All of the drinking bottles Nalgene makes are BPA free and their stainless bottles have no lining. There is no known health threat due to any of Nalgenes current products.

Putting hot water in a stainless bottle and sticking it down into a sock can help keep you warm. Seems I recall someone doing that at the Mt Rogers Hang last year.
