Contuse = injury to tissue without laceration, im trying to figure out what a contuse ridgeline is..

Single Layer 1.1 WBBB Hammock in Grey w/ zing-it adj. ridgeline 13.69oz
Dyngalide whoppie slings w/ 8ft of adjustability 0.44oz
    Maccat Deluxe OES Spinn Tarp w/ 40ft Speer No Tangle + 4 1.75mm Zingit Guylines + 1 fig 9 11.99oz
Vargo Titanium Ultralight Shepherd Hook Stakes x 6 .84oz
    2x 6 Foot Tree Hugger + 2X Dutch Clips 4.73oz

    Total: 32.13oz

Setup 2 is with a grizz bridge and it is 5-6oz heavier because of the poles, but im looking for ligther replacements.

My setup includes bug net, huge tarp. Im betting your has no bugnet. I could not sleep under a micro. Probably because the blackbird is so long.

Im making a cuben tarp and cuben underquilt in the future so i will save some weight there. Making a top quilt too, momentum 90. I imagine after switching to a cuben tarp i would be looking at around a 27oz setup with the blackcat and 32-34oz with the grizz bridge.

people who can't spell or make a typo (I HATE it when I make a typo) hate it when their errors are highlighted. Took me a while to work out that it was a continuous ridgeline.

Grand Trunk Ultralight about 10 ounces
whoopies, straps and toggles from AHE
HH Asym 30D Silnylon rain fly 8 1/4 oz
    Equinox Mantis Mosquito Net
1/8" braided poly cord continuous ridgeline w/prussiks and micro-biners, same cord for tarp tie-outs.
    aluminum tri-stakes
Sea to summit silnylon stuff sack
all together just under 32 oz.

since weighing I did go to 7/64 whoopies (from 1/8) so I might be a smidge less but not much.

if you find any others feel free to point them out one off the reasons why i can get away with a micro is because i am only 14 and not that tall and my hammock is quite short, slightly longer then the Grand Trunk Nano7. as for bug protection i do not need it as i live in Ireland and they are not really a problem.

Sound like nice under quilt and tarp ideas i hope they turn out well.

Not meant as personal in any way, just trying to figure out what contuse meant in the context of a ridgeline! I had not even heard that word before, so you got one up on me in that regard. I had heard contusion, but not contuse.

I was going to ask you how tall you were, i thought you might be short because the hammock was so light and tarp so small.

Good to see such a young guy getting into hammocking, best wishes hanging. It will be awhile before i can get my quilt made as im still waiting on cuben, but when i do i will send you pics.

Out of curiosity, what are you using for insulation?

My setup as of the MAHHA hang this weekend:

    * Grand Trunk Nano 7 hammock (total 8.2oz)
    - Dynaglide whoopie slings
    - arrow shaft toggles
    - 4.5ft tree straps

    * Warbonnet Edge Spinn UL tarp (total 11.3oz)
    - 4 guylines + DAC V-stakes
    - stuff sack
    - AHE 2-line tarp suspension

So that puts mine at about 19.5oz (actual weight on the scale, turned out to be a tad higher than adding up the manufacturer weights). Weighing all that out has got me thinking about cutting more weight now

Looking at the stakes, they're about .5oz a piece, could have a couple ounces there. The 2-line tarp suspension is also a tad heavier than a single line would be, w/the 4 micro biners on it.

It's too cold to need a bugnet, but for warmer weather I'd want to either switch to a heavier hammock that includes a net, or buy (not a DIY guy just yet) one of PapaSmurf's BugSocks - somewhere around 2oz but I'll gladly carry it in bug season!

    My usual set-up is;

    Nano 7 hammock
    Dyna Whoopies (2)
    4ft Huggers (2)
    Arrow Shaft toggles (2)
    Soft Shackles (2)

    Total is 8.7oz

Speer 8x10 tarp (in Hennessy Hammock snake skins)
    STL's (6)
    Continous Ridgeline
Ti Sheppard Hook Stakes (8 in stake bag)

    Total is 19.6oz

I also have a bug net from Papasmurf that weighs 2.3oz which gets added in the buggy season!
The only thing that may change is the Hammock as I have a GT Ultralight that I just received and I tested it out at MAHHA and I really like it as it's a little more roomy than the Nano 7!
I love my set-up but I am eyeballing a new tarp! Maybe a spinn or cuben 8x10, 11x9 or the like????

CB, funny you mention that, I was actually going to ask you about the UL compared to the Nano since I saw you brought both. After we got home from MAHHA I ordered a GT UL (just arrived about 20 minutes ago) just for kicks. At $17 I figured I could play around with it in the backyard. We'll see if I like the extra room enough to swap!
