Just curious what length folks use for their tarp's continuous ridgeline. My tarp is 12' along the ridge. I'll be using a figure 9 to pull it tight.

I like about 10-12 feet on each side of the tarp but we have some big trees out here that can dictate the length needed.

I use a 30 foot length for my tarp ridgelines. Any more than that and the trees would be too far apart to hang the hammock easily IMO. I also carry a couple of 10 foot lengths in my spare gear in case I need more length for some reason. As Paul said though the soze of trees in your area is a factor.
Don't let life get in the way of living.
I use a 30' and i have the tarp on prussic knots so i can use 3 feet around a small tree on one end and the other 17 around a really big tree. I use a figure nine and a #1 s biner.
I use 30' as well Nite Ize dog bone on one end the other a figure 9.
Sounds like 30' is the consensus. I had 24' on my tarp initially, but first time out, it was just barely long enough. Glad it was only mason twine.
Thanks for the input. Now it's time to measure out the lash-it.
