Getting my UQ materials in order.
I have NoSeeUm for the baffles and .9oz for the outside.
Is there any need to hem the baffle material prior to installation? It seems like working with the small widths of the noseeum would be a pain the arse.
Is there any concern that this stuff would unravel?
Also, if anyone has a link the the very detailed direction on a DIY down UQ I would appreciate the link. I can not seem to find it or remember who posted it.

I hem mine. It will make them much stronger and it looks impossible to repair it they pull out. I just fold it once and run it real quick on the machine to both sides. It takes aboust a half an hour to get them all done but well worth it. You will never regret making it as good as you possibly can.

I have not worked with NoSeeum to any great extent. You should be able to tell whether it is subject to fraying. If it unravels or frays at the cut edge then definately hem them. If the fabric is stable under various stress directions then it is probably not as crucial. But except for the extra fabric and little time you don't lose anythkng by hemming them.

i don't hem as noseeum doesn't fray, but it stretches like mad which i hate.

It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold
Combo for me...fold it over and then sew through both layers as I attach to the shell.
