    Greatest time of enjoyment . . .

    . . . is when we are in the hammock . . . asleep . . .

So the only time we can consciously enjoy it is just before and just after the sleep.

But 96% of the time we are unconsciously enjoying our hammock.

I know that is a weird concept but quaders only enjoy quading while awake.
and the same for skiers, boaters, etc, etc.

    We may be a strange bunch . . .

I dont think that is completely accurate. There are many who enjoy large quantities of time in their hammock lounging. I wish I were one of them.

    truer words were never spoken.

every hammock i get in a rate on how well i think i could sleep there right off the bat. its a little prejudice, i know. But this is just the way i am. im a hammocker of discerning tastes.

Alot of it for me is the tinkering. I enjoy setting it up, and and playing with different tarp configurations. But yeah, I love the sleep I get in it too

Funny AND true. I will occasionally throw mine up in the afternoon to do a little reading or mess around on my harmonica, I find these things much more enjoyable when I'm swayin in my hammock.
I had a friend crawl into my hammock with me one night...that turned out kind of enjoyable and we were wide awake

Nah - our hammock give us enjoyment every minute we're logged into HF!

You know that saying that you can only really be warm if some small part of you is cold? I know it's mean, but I really enjoy my hammock in the morning when I hear groundlings grunting and groaning, rolling around to relieve their pressure points, and complaining about how hard the shelter floor/root/rock/ground is. Makes me snuggle down deeper into my quilt, or stretch out nice and long just to emphasize to myself that I don't have any pressure points.

Then I have to prep myself for the questions about it once I finally roll out of the hammock. I kinda like that, too, though...if I can make one more person enjoy the woods just a little more, I feel good. And if they enjoy it more, that's one more person who's just a little more motivated to protect our wild spaces...so we can continue to enjoy our hammocks in the future!

I enjoy my hammock with every step that I take without pain, and with every hour that I feel well because I had a great night's sleep.

I also enjoy indoor plumbing not only when I am taking a nice hot shower, but also every time that I am doing anything other than carrying water from a well. I might not actively be thinking about it at the time, but I am generally aware of the difference that it makes in my life.
