Well I took my eno to boy scout camp for our fall camporee.
temps nice during the day upper 30s & 40s at night. Used my timberrest pad and threw my zero degree bag on top of that. Used a poly tarp for a rainfly.
The result should be of no surprise to anyone here. For the first time ever, I slept comfortably and woke up without any aches or pains. That has never happened on the ground. I didnt sleep through the night, but when I did sleep I slept soundly. Once again never happened on the ground. I suspect this was no fluke as you all go on and on at nausea about how well you sleep in your hammocks. But my experience tells me you all are absolutely right.
I have a lot to learn in my setup, getting good straps, figuring out the ridgeline and tarp, etc. However even with my set up, I was caccooned in comfort.
I must say, you have all said it before, but I will say it again, I will probably never go back to a ground tent when its just me. Course I like the notoriety in my troop as being the hammmock innovator. I would not be surprised if the next time we go out another hammock or two appears.
Thanks for the continued education.
