IF I remember the directions correctly, you are supposed to have a 1.5" border around ALL of the hole. My repair held my 200 lbs for over 5 nights with NO signs of becoming un-repaired.

That hammock is now in the possesion of a friend as a loaner. It supported his 230 Lbs (just a 10 minute trial run) with ease.
