I had the same problem . . . so have been sleeping with 1 or 2 legs bent and laying to 1 or both sides
Not my fav way to sleep . . .

I knew what I wanted but until yesterday couldn't find it

I found it at Canadian Tire

but you can find it at amozon

it is a Samsonite royal traveller convertible travel comfort pillow

It has a draw string to Horseshoe it, tight or loose.

I picked it up by one end and shook the contents to one end
and ended up with it full to about 16" with 4" of loose bag
used the draw string to tie it off like a balloon end
now it was the right density for to support my knees up a bit for me to have an awesome sleep.

That's a great find! I like that you can change the shape according to how you want to use it!

I was thinking of making two pillows for myself, but that would work in it's place!

Thanks for finding and sharing that Bradley!

Looks like a great solution. I've been using a small square pillow but that shape would work much better.

totalpillow.com - I picked up one of these at a clearance sale at Bed Bath & Beyond. Bending in half makes it a stiff support. It also has an opening in the middle so when I have earphones in and want to lay on my side to go to sleep, I'm not jamming the earphones in uncomfortably using the pillow. It's very dense and firm.

I found something like that works wonders for me too... beneath my knees when on my back & between my knees when on my side.
I have used a few clothing items in a stuff sack & also there are the inflatable (disposable) pillows that weigh near nothing that work great. I'll see if I can find a link.
I too will something make and joy in it's making
