    My first hang :(

So after reading up on all things hammock here, and doing a dry run in the yard, i decided to finally try out my hammock this afternoon.

    It didn't go so well.

I had to go to a local aprk because don't have any trees ata home.
First, I had a helluva time trying to get the thing adjusterd properly with the webgrip things I"ve got. Finally figured it out. So I"m in the hammock, trying to figure out the diagonal lay thing, and I hear some younger kids laughin and shouting but it was in Mexican. So I don't think nothing bout it until THWACK something hits my rear end!!!

I tried to get the zipper undone and start yelling but it's obvious these kids kept hitting me with a stick and not understanding me! I finally get out and I"m about to kill 'em, but their parents/grandparents wask up and start apoligizing a lot to me, the kids were fairly small (3-5ish) and didn't mean bad...the just thought I was a Pinata!

After that I figured out what's up with laying diagonal, but i can see what you mean about the knees getting sore in certain lya positions.

Hopefully next time things go better and Im gonna get a pillow for between my legs like you all suggest.

Never has the problem with being beaten by a stick while hanging. I would love to have watched this one from a distance! I am still laughing after reading about it!

Can't help but laugh at your story!!! And it reminds me that my lovely wife calls my backpacking hammock a "bear pinata." YIKES!!!

Now that's funny! Truth really is stranger than fiction. Glad no one was injured, Swing. Better luck next time.

What a great first hang story! Worth its weight in candy! You'll get this hang thing figured out soon and will appreciate the worth of this story even more!!

Your new trail name could be Pinata!! The mods will change your HF name if you decide to keep it!
