...and there came to be a day, all too soon, that I became aware that I could travel no more on my long journey. Though I did not arrive where I had planned, I believe that here is exactly where I am supposed to be...
Nothing better than waking-up in the backyard after a cold, very windy night and walking into a Mom's house with all those Thanksgiving smells coming from the kitchen. My hand is already red from being wacked with wooden spoons as I try to sneak a taste here and there; worth every ounce of pain.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow hangers and backpackers. I started the day reading the original Thanksgiving Day Proclamation from 1789 by George Washington, printed every year in our newspaper. It makes fascinating reading, as do the founding documents such as Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and Bill of Rights, and even the Mayflower Compact.
I'm going real light and carb free today until the big blow out later today, when restraint is thrown to the wind.
Also just realized that we should be wishing the starter of this thread a Happy Birthday! Happy B-Day Ewker
