I'm camping in my Mom's backyard in Texas for Thanksgiving. Not quite hiking, but the food is waaaaay better.

I'm certainly thankful for this site and the people that live here. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

    Happy T-day to all!

Maybe someone can dress up their brown HH as a turkey and post pics...

Happy Thankgiving everyone .God bless you and yours. I just returned with my son from an overnight hang. It was good quality time.

...and there came to be a day, all too soon, that I became aware that I could travel no more on my long journey. Though I did not arrive where I had planned, I believe that here is exactly where I am supposed to be...

Nothing better than waking-up in the backyard after a cold, very windy night and walking into a Mom's house with all those Thanksgiving smells coming from the kitchen. My hand is already red from being wacked with wooden spoons as I try to sneak a taste here and there; worth every ounce of pain.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow hangers and backpackers. I started the day reading the original Thanksgiving Day Proclamation from 1789 by George Washington, printed every year in our newspaper. It makes fascinating reading, as do the founding documents such as Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and Bill of Rights, and even the Mayflower Compact.

I'm going real light and carb free today until the big blow out later today, when restraint is thrown to the wind.

That does sound great, and I should have slept out last night! Then the cooking aromas would have driven me even more crazy!
