This is a post that I copied from the original thread - Thought some might have similar questions.

Buck Lake is a private camp area that is accessible by an unimproved (dirt) road about 2-3 miles off rt 19. The accomodations are limited, in that, there is only a pit toilet and no electricity.

This is about much the same as you've experienced - there is no single area that will accomodate everyone to hang. Many will have to go a few hundred yards up/down the trail or bushwack off-trail to the perfect pair of trees.

There is however, a very nice common area on the waterfront with a fire pit and several picnic tables.

There is a hand well (in the common area) that provides what is considered the best water in ONF.

WoodmanFla: More than a few of us will going for a wander so the gang will be spread out and reconvene for a big night. I am sure we will not be cramped in the least.

Giggity: As long as Skeeter Magnet is coming along the rest of us will be left in bug peace!

Oh--I should add, when I am not obsessing about hammocks and packs, I am dreaming of stoves. I hope everyone with a creative stove will be ready for the show and tell. I really wanna check out a Kelly Kettle even though I know they are too big for the trail. I have been playing with wood gasificaiton (mixed results) but wanna share notes......

I will definitely be there! Can't wait to meet all the hangers here in Florida as well as visitors from the great white north.

I too have been bitten by the woodgas stove bug recently. I'm attending the Texas hang in about 3 weeks and hope to pick up more knowledge that I can share.

Oh I do wish I could attend this event! It would be nice to get back into what is our summer temps even just for a little while! I could even bring a friend's Kelly Kettle (which is a wonderful piece of equipment) for show and tell. Sadly, I'm stuck in cold Canada for now...

Keep in mind January is still a few months out. Plenty of time for making plans. My money is saying January temperatures anywhere in Florida will be a bit warmer than Canada.
