A couple of very good friends of mine, AT hikers (from different parts of Florida) get together and hike and camp a few times a year. They are still in tents. But I told them about the FL Hang, and they would like to attend. Any problem with this?

I believe Everyone is welcome.
Ground dwellers will have plenty of space to stretch out. They may get laughed at in the mornings as they try to shake off the aches-and-pains of sleeping on the ground.

Perhaps some people could take spare hammocks for them to try?

Problem could be getting them rigged/tarps etc. etc. I have a Treklight double, but it's not rigged...I'm sure I have extra straps but no time to do anything before the New Year.

Better yet, I could take the stuff and someone help/show me/us.

I just ordered a new tarp for myself. My current blue Walmart is not the best but it would be better than nothing - I'll bring it. I'm sure my new one will be used by mid Jan.

With this being a larger group hang, and an occassion to learn from other experienced campers, I encourage everyone to bring as much gear as possible. What better place to find out what's out there? Car camping site, hanging from the hammock!
I'm looking forward to learning a few new tricks myself.
