    For me, camping is about the comfort- hiking is about the journey
    (fortunately both of them get me out the door and into the wind and sun)

    Nevertheless, if weight be no object, well hell, bring it all I say! That being said, Russ and I did pick us up molly macpacks to be kinder to our knees for those moments when the site is a few hours away from the trailhead.

    ====>> LOL! Now hauling a nice REI Flash 65 - basic load around 30 or less, and also just bought two more blades - an 18" Columbian Sawback Machete, and a Cold Steel Trail Hawk tomahawk/axe. Will take the head off the 'hawk and carry separately, make new handles as needed in camp.
