Weasel and I may come up Friday night, since this is only about an hour and a half away.

Neither of us have been to a group hang, have never been to this park...don't know any of ya'll, so it'll be interesting to meet everyone. Looking forward to it.

We'll probably stay Friday and Saturday nights, and roll back home on Sunday.

I might see if, maybe, I could come up Friday and come home Saturday morning. Don't know how that will sit with her but I've mentioned hanging out to see if I have everything working, though I told her I was going to go to the bluffs down where I live not up there. I'd need to get food, and stove although for the short walk we're talking about I have a coleman gas powered single burner and a mess kit that would work. Not lightweight stuff but then I'm not a light weight guy and the walking distance is low.

Put me under the maybe column. If she balks about me being gone any that weekend, I won't be there.

I had commented that I would see walking bear at the northern hang, but I will not be able to attend the nebraska hang... sorry I will miss it.

So, question for the folks who live close to this hang.

I tried swinging by that area today since my wife and I were in Omaha on an anniversary trip. I tried cutting over from Rockport, but the roads are still closed on that part.

Spoke with a guy at a gas station there, he told me the only other route would be to cut all the way down to St Joeseph and then over.

Suggested routes, given the current road conditions in the area?

Coincidentally, I camped in the very location were headed back in April. The trees were blooming and everything was coming back to life. It will be interesting to contrast that with the fall colors. Here are a couple of photos of my setup from our spot.

I'm planning to be there late afternoon on Friday and look forward to meeting you all.

Yup; all of those roads have been closed since June 19th! If you have to cross the Mighty Mo from the south (Kansas City way), the best place is to cross at St. Joseph MO on Highway 36. Take that west for 37 miles and then turn north on Highway 159 (which is also Highway 73 in Nebraska). Take that all the way to the NE 64 Spur and turn east another 9 miles to the Park (there's a gravel road short-cut; but I'll leave that one to you and your GPS to figure out )

Here's a link to a Missouri State website that shows all road closings and conditions.

So now the updated list is:

    YES, I'LL BE THERE:
    Walking Bear
    AtomicLlama
    BurningCedar
    cfi on the fly
    Dudorino
    Owl (+1)

Skygzr and Hangin'Yankee; we'll miss you. Hope you can make the next round!

We are on the road home. Stopped at a dealership, with a check engine light on Dennis's truck.
I hope to be in the park on or before Friday.
Had a great time on the Northen Hang.

Question...are there any others that may have some tent campers come with them? My wife is considering coming along, and she's among the uninitiated yet. (Don't have a hammock or gear for her yet, but working on trying to put some stuff together for her once I convince her to try!)

Also, how far away from the hang site are the tent grounds? Or are the co-located?

Any other wives or ladies coming along?
