Just got back home and gotta say we had a great time!

Reunited with some old friends and made some new ones. Got some new ideas for gear and techniques. Weather was a bit cloudy/drizzly on Saturday but not bad and we got to see an awesome cloudless sunrise over the Missouri River this morning!

It don't get any better than that!

I'll post a link to photos probably tomorrow. I took a bunch (especially of the sunrise) but I need to separate out the good ones first.

Thanks Walking Bear for setting this up!

They had access at the site? Assuming you had your iphone or android, should have had you all get a GPS coordinate reading, for spring, when we go there next, right?

Oh, and by spring I don't mean the weekend of May the 14th or 2nd as that's my daughter and grand-daughters bday weekends and I can't get out then.

It was beautiful here in KC as well. Took the wee one to a pumkin farm where they had mazes and animals and pig races and shipped in pumpkins cuzz they lost their crop. Wore her little rear end out. But I was going to do that anyways, we just got caught up with meetings Friday night darn it.

Looking forward to some pictures so I'll know what it looks like.

Owl and I came back around 3:30pm this afternoon from the hang. It was a wonderful place to "hang" out ofcourse.

Mr. Clean, as for your comment, yes the GPS on an android phone will get you close to the campsite but if you have AT&T or possibly T Mobile you may have spotty 3G reception. Sprint, at least, has almost full 3G reception on the top of the bluffs but dead in the lowlands.

For those who were unable to come, you all missed a good outting, and I hope to meet some of you at latter hangs.

I've gotta second the thanks going out to Walking Bear for organizing this! Weasel and I have never been to a hang before...this was great. Not a huge crowd, but it was great to put some faces to some trail/screen names.

Lots of great ideas on things I can do to improve packweight, and awesome to see how others hang.

Looking forward to the "trip report" thread, and have a couple of pictures to post to that when it's up as well.

Thanks to Burning Cedar for the COOL decals!

We REALLY enjoyed meeting you all!

As promised, here's the photos from our outing.

I tend to be rather selective; so of the 111 photos I took, I only published 13 of the best ones.

Here they are -- hope you enjoy!

Sad I missed this go round. :-( time just didn't allow. Will keep an eye open for the next hang. Now I have to look for a new tool dude Tony video as I see some behind the scenes shots.

    Thanks BurningCedar

Great photos Dave. You did great work with that new camera.
I forgot and left the camera in the RV with the wife.
I want to thank BurningCedar for taking charge of the last minutes details of the hang. We were on a trip and Internet access was not available most of the time. Maybe someday I will have to get one of those new fancy phones that some of you have.
I was in and out during the hang with wife and friends in the RV campground, and a Nebraska football game to watch. Hope I can schedule better if we have a hang next year.

Just thought I'd throw out some love for these kinds of get togethers. It's really cool how even a small gathering like this can help out us new hangers.

Wes and I just got done making reflectix cozies for our cook pots. Looked up babelfish5's recipes. Watched Tony's review videos.

I'll be swapping out my stock HH suspension for whoopie slings this weekend, while I'm sewing up another set of snakeskins for both Wes and I to use on our hammocks (we both have a set on our tarps).

Granted, I'll still never get my packweight to something below "sherpa-level"...but still, got some great ideas and met some great folks.

    THANKS GUYS!
