Nebraska Hang

I just returned from the Indian Cave State park in south east Nebraska.

I had gone over to RV and take in the Spook Fest. Indian Cave State Park is a mixed hardwood forest on the bluffs of the Missouri River. There are a lot of trails in the park. I have visited with a few HF members about going to the park for a hang and some hiking.
What I would like to propose would be a hang the last weekend in October, 2011. That would be after the Spook Fest and reduced number of people in the park. However, this last weekend while hiking trails I saw less than a half dozen people on the trails.

Ugg, I have been out the last 4 weekends so I can't make it. I would enjoy the chance to meet fellow HFers, get advice and check out their setups! Hope you share some pictures, if it were closer I would try to swing in and say HI! Darn..

2011; as in a year from now?

Heck, I should be able to fit that into my schedule. If on the other hand you truly meant this year, then I'm afraid I'm already committed for the coming weekend.

I've backpacked and hiked Indian Cave on a number of occasions. Its a lovely park with lots of nice vistas overlooking the Missouri River. Like you, I find the Park a might overcrowded during the peak season; but quite pleasant in the off-season.

This past weekend I was with some of our friends from last spring's Buffalo River hang. We had a great time on the Ozark Highland Trail and there's already plans underway for another Buffalo River hang this coming spring. Keep you calendar open in the March time-frame for that reunion!!!

I did mean to say 2011, a year from now. Just planning ahead.
I will be looking for that March hang in the Ozarks.

Gee, I feel sheepish! In that case I will put in on my calendar and see what next year brings.

What a coincidence. I am heading there a week from Saturday for an overnighter. Indian Caves is my favorite fall spot. Count me in for a 2011 event!

Hung there in September, there were a lot of boy scouts in the campgrounds but I only saw a few people on the trails. I'm in for 2011!
