previously, I have seen this (online, not in store) and thought of ways in which it was bad, some due to me being new to hammock camping, or to be wanting a HH, or whatever, but looking at it, is is pretty unique.

I saw the tarp again now, and liked how it slopes, like a BPL stealth (I think), where the head is bigger then the foot. Also, the tent can be suspended around the hammock, floating shelter.

but sadly, its EMS price (as usual) is quite high, and who knows how high quality the materials are...

it would be interesting to see it in person or at least in pictures rather than just the drawing, & to see how it covers & functions in real life.
i can't help but feel a little skeptical about it but you never know.

one thing i see is that i believe you would have the same issue that way to many tents have... you can't open the door w/o letting some rain in.

Well, if I did get this setup, I would try and set up just the hammock and tarp, leaving the heavy tent and poles behind. the tarp looks nice, kind of like a smaller winter tarp, with the ends that close up. And without the tent, it would allow you to enter it like normal.

but if you did carry the tent, think of the go to ground options.


As I was writing, I was thinking of a very small tent I got in Europe, where it has only 2 vertical poles, and then the stakes pull it out to keep it taught and upright. How hard would it be to modify the tent to accommodate hiking poles?

the hammock is about 2.5 yards long, so it should fit most people. I like the shape of the fly/tarp too.
