I really have to temper my thoughts/review. Before the packable throw arrived, I've been using my Dempsey TQ as a living room throw. So I'm spoiled by using a real 3S and then following it up with this throw. I'll give it some more, very through () testing this weekend watching some movies...though I admit we finally turned the heat on last night...I wimped out and didn't make it to November without heat due to us having the little pit bull. I'm more worried about her comfort than anyone else in the house.

Interesting. Looking forward to your review. I'd like to know what the stuff sack size and weight on this is.

Yeah, we want pics and weights and details!

Actually my wife already put the kibosh on buying one, says she doesn't need it. But I'm still curious... Christmas is coming up, maybe if one shows up under the tree she'll change her mind

I can't seem to edit my first post, so I'll just do the review here and maybe a mod can append this to the first post so it's easy for people to find.

I'm just going to add photos now, I'll add more of a description later, it's late and I'm a terrible writer when I'm tired...

The Eddie Bauer Down Packable Throw weighs in at 524g in the stuff sack, the stuff sack comes in at 18g on it's own. Loft is about 3/4" after the blanket gets shaken and aired out. It takes a while to fluff up.

The card says it comes with a carabiner...but all I see is the mitten clip on the pull cord. Slight exageration there.

The stuffsack and blanket are from the same material, same 650 FP logo.

Though the EB web page doesn't show it, the Red Blanket is two tone just as the Blue Blanket is. This was something Brianne was grumbling about when she ordered the blankets...the two tone just looks nicer. So she was pleased to see the red is also two tone.

The blankets are quite comfy and perfect for a small woman, or slightly larger than a lap blanket for a man. I'd say it's larger than your average throw. Brianne felt the packable down blanket was a bit too hot for movie watching in with the ambient temperature at around 66F-68F. I agree with this and would say it would be good to lower 60's or maybe even upper 50's if you're a warm body such as I am.

Last photo is a fabric comparison between the Packable down blanket, and my EB Packlight Vest and Sweater/Jacket. The Packable down blanket is a slightly stiffer, very slightly heavier fabric, but in no way uncomfortable or harsh.

I've been eyeing this blanket too, man they sure swamp you with catalogs, huh? In their Down Event catalog, they show the packable throw at $49 but they also list an oversized down throw at $39.50 This one is 50"x72". 550 fill down, looks like more loft compared to the packable throw, no stuff sack I'm sure?? There's also a down and fleece throw at $39. I'm guessing this one weighs more. I'm looking at that down jacket and vest too. Classic down vest is $29.99 and jacket is $59.99.

The Oversized Down Throw at $39 and 50 x 72 has some great possibilities. A bit of H/W and some bungeee cord for an UQ. Maybe to around 50/55? Some Velcrow for foot box for TQ (for shorter folks). At 6' 2" it's to short for TQ for me but on top of my No Sniveler it should extend it's range considerably. Anyone know what it weighs?
I THOUGHT GETTING OLDER WOULD TAKE MUCH LONGER.
