In the Janomes I tried, one had all of the computerized stiches. Great machine but a little overkill at the moment. Then the other didn't have some of the adjustments I wanted. Then tried the Baby Locks and they had the one I bought that was in between the 2 Janomes as far as features. They then told me that it was made by Janome for Baby Lock. They said they weren't sure if they where supposed to be telling people. I told them I would have found out anyway so it was ok.I thought you got two machines.

For the pics or it didn't happen crowd. Picked it up yesterday. Just made a stuff sack just to get working with it. Hope to be making an UQ over the weekend and if there is enough material, a tq for the daughter. Man this thing is nice.

You better change the name on that machine. Something like "Thrasher" or "Dominator". Babylock is almost as bad as my "Dressmaker." My brother had a lot of fun at my expense on that one! Looks like a great buy, TI envy here.
Before my sister lent me her thred injector I was and still am looking into the Husqvarna Machines. I mean whats more manly than owning a thread injector by the same company that made my chainsaw??? Never mind the fact that a sweet 80 year old woman was trying to sell it too me. I still felt tough looking at a Husqvarna!!!
Husquvana/Viking machines are excellent machines. Rival Janome for quality. Only one concern... Parts are made available only to authorized dealers (according to my mechanic) so make sure there is a service shop with in a reasonable distance. One more caveat... Viking made a line at one point in W. Germany. I would advise staying away from those. I have one and love it. But the line was discontinued long ago and repair parts are virtually impossible to find. If this machine dies I am without recourse except a new machine.

That Baby Lock seams to be the same as the Janome Sewist 500 that I purchased today I got a great price and a more that fair trade in on a 1968 Kenmore that was on the last of its legs, it was a cabinet model. Best of luck with it.
Ohhh no. Which kenmore did you let go of? Was it the 1715 zig zag model with the stitch pattern disks? If so I highly recommend going and getting it back. I swear to you there is nothing on that thing that can not be fixed back to near perfection for almost no money. I inherited one that my mother thought was on it's last too. These machines are clockwork dreams. Don't give up on em.
